Nicky Byrne can't wait to be back on stage solo as he'll NEVER lose that 'buzz'

Former Westlife star Nicky Byrne has admitted he’ll never “lose the buzz” of playing to large crowds – despite his new 2FM job.

The Dublin star loved the 14 years he spent with the band selling out stadiums around the world.

And Nicky said that he can’t wait to revisit playing gigs – but as a solo artist when his own album is finished.

It comes as the 34-year-old knows he will feel sad to be broadcasting with 2FM from Electric Picnic tomorrow – and not up on stage.

He said: “With big festivals like that, we did a lot of big pop festivals and you never lose the want to be up there on those big occasions.

“But we has 14 good years and maybe one day you can revisit it, at some level yourself.

“At the moment I’m actually recording a solo album so I have a couple of songs recorded.

“With something like the Picnic, you do look at it or any big stage and say, I’ve done it but you’ll never lose the buzz of a live crowd.

“You’ll always want to revisit it at some point.”

And Nicky hinted he may even consider a Christmas song, telling the Marian Finucane show he’ll return then to sing.

He insisted: “We’ll sing a few Christmas songs together.”

Already Shane Filan and Kian Egan have released solo albums, while Mark Feehily is also working on one.

Recently Voice coach Kian said he can see Westlife reforming.
