Does this mean Niall Horan has FINALLY started working on his solo album?

He’s believed to have signed a solo deal with Syco records and Niall Horan has been spending plenty of time in the studio lately.

The 22-year-old One Direction singer is currently in Los Angeles, where he teamed up with Ruth-Anne Cunningham, aka Rooty, and we can only hope that these two are working on new music together.

Ruth-Anne is an Irish songwriter, who helped co-write Too Little Too Late by the American singer Jojo and recently wrote Dutch DJ Martin Garrix and American singer Bebe Rexha’s In The Name of Love.

American producer Matt Rad uploaded a short clip of Niall and Ruth-Anne jamming to a Christy Moore track in the studio on Snapchat and while we weren’t treated to any new material yet, hopefully Niall has roped in the talented pair to collaborate on solo songs.

The video, which Ruth-Anne also shared on Instagram,  features Niall playing his guitar while he and Ruth-Anne sing and she wrote: “Just learning a little Irish song in the studio with me Irish pal #christymoore.”

Niall and Ruth-Anne have worked together before, as the singer/songwriter wrote two songs for One Direction’s Four album.

She previously told DailyEdge.ie: “I wrote Where Do Broken Hearts Go, which was co-written by Harry Styles, and No Control, which Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson contributed to. I can’t really talk about what it was like to work with them, though!”
