Louis Walsh’s new boyband Hometown have told how they are hoping to bag a slot on the X Factor.
But the Irish group admit they will need a bit more experience before going on the ITV programme.
“We’d obviously love to perform on the X Factor one day, that’s every musician’s dream,” they said.
“But we don’t know if we’re quite ready for it yet — maybe next year when we’ve a little more experience under our belts.

And Hometown – who are supporting Shane Filan at Live at the Marquee tonight – have had some experience already on the show.
“Our band member Cian actually tried out for the X Factor in 2012 at the auditions over in England and he got quite far in the competition,” they told the Herald.
“He got as far as boot camp, so he did well and it was a great experience, but that was it for him — he didn’t go any further.
“He says now that he’s glad he didn’t get through to the live finals as he probably wasn’t ready, but now he feels the time is right.”

But Hometown insisted they wouldn’t be able to do what they do without Louis’ advice.
“Every time we meet, he has something new to tell us, which is understandable given how long he’s been in the business,” they said.
“He’s going to be busy working on the new series of the X Factor as well but has made sure he’s always available if we need him for advice.”
