Louis Walsh: 'I shouldn't have picked eight members for Stereo Kicks – it's too many'

Louis Walsh has admitted he should have chopped the amount of members in Stereo Kicks.

The Mayo man says he is “disappointed” at one of his acts not making it to the final of the series tonight.

But the 62-year-old – who is “50-50” over whether Fleur East or Ben Haenow will win – believes he made a mistake not culling his eight-piece band.

Too big: Louis feels six would be maximum size for group | ITV

He said: “I’m disappointed because I did think Only The Young or Stereo Kicks would have made the final, I really did.

“With Stereo Kicks, if I was doing it again I wouldn’t pick eight. It’s too many.

“I think if there were five or six they’d be amazing. One of them is only 14 – he can’t work after 7pm. It’s too much hassle.”

And Louis told the Sunday World that he believes both Fleur and Ben – whoever wins – will be successful.

He added “I think they are both going to get record deals and be successful. I also think Andrea will make a great record.”
