Lady Gaga has confirmed the iconic part two of the Telephone video is coming and teases Beyoncé’s return.
It’s been nearly 16 years since Lady Gaga and Beyoncé made a Thelma & Louise-style getaway in their Telephone collaboration, with the music video ending with the message: “To be continued…”
Fans went crazy at the time at the idea of a second part of the iconic collab, and now Lady Gaga has confirmed there will be a second part.
In an interview with Vanity Fair for the magazine’s well-known lie detector test section, the pop sensation was asked if Telephone would have a sequel.
“Yes,” she said, although she didn’t say when.
When asked if Beyoncé would return for the second part, Gaga responded: “Maybe.”
Then, Vanity Fair questioned whether scheduling conflicts with Beyoncé were the reason the follow-up was “taking forever.”
Gaga answered truthfully: “No!.”
The confession comes after Beyoncé appeared to tease the collaboration during the promotion of her latest Cowboy Carter.
Similar to the Pussy Waggon from “Telephone,” the taxi being driven in the Cowboy Carter teaser is yellow and has fuzzy dice.
Fans reacted to the news of Gaga’s answers on the lie detector on social media, with one writing: “OUR MOTHERS COMING BACK IM CRYING”
Another wrote: “WE ALL SCREAMED AND CHEERED”
A third wrote: “THE SEQUEL IS FINALLY HAPPENING?!??”
