Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden bet their life savings on Boyzlife success

Keith Duffy and Brian McFadden risked their life savings on the success of their Boyzlife tour.

Keith, who first appeared in Boyzone, and Brian, who first appeared in Westlife, took a chance by putting all of their own money into a 12-date tour without the backing of a promoter.

Speaking to the Irish Sun on Sunday, Keith said, “That meant we fronted the costs ourselves until the tickets sold. It was a big risk. We had absolutely no idea how it would be received – we went in totally blind.”

Meanwhile, Brian said, “Keith and I knew we had a great concept, and we said to each other one evening over dinner ‘Let’s roll the dice, we believe in the idea so let’s go for it.’

“It was pretty terrifying,” he said.

The Boyzlife tour didn’t receive the greatest support from Brian’s former Westlife bandmates, namely Shane Filan and Kian Egan.

Despite this, Keith and Brian’s tour has gone down a hit with fans so far.

“The night before tickets went on sale was definitely a sleepless night for us. We were terrified. If the tickets didn’t sell, we were going to be in a bad place,” Keith said.

Thankfully, the Boyzlife tour tickets sold out within six hours, with prices ranging from €40 to €100.
