Hozier ‘feeling the pressure’ to pen second album

Hozier has admitted that he’s “feeling the pressure” to pen tracks for his second album.

The Wicklow native is feeling the heat after his debut studio album was a massive success in the charts, with his hit single Take Me To Church receiving a Grammy nomination in 2015.

The singer has been taking some time off the road to work on new material – and returned to his hometown of Ireland to get some inspiration.

“I’m at home in Ireland for the next few months. I’m enjoying the quiet time and working away. I’m writing, keeping the head down,” he said.

“There are a lot of things to draw from. I’m in the thick of it at the moment. I can’t even say what it’s about,” he told the Irish Mirror.

While fans have been pining for some new hits from Hozier, he most recently penned chart-topping hit Better Love for The Legend of Tarzan movie.

But the 26-year-old is adamant to take his time with his next record, despite feeling the pressure.

“Naturally I’m feeling the pressure but these things you just have to zone out from. Your only duty is to the music you feel you have to make,” he added.
