Rock star Hozier has been downloaded more than 20 million times around the world – as he quickly becomes Ireland’s biggest musical export.
The Wicklow singer – who is already getting ready to work on his second album – entered the US charts at No2 with his album last week.
Now manager Caroline Downey has revealed he’s had his hit Take Me To Church downloaded off iTunes 16 million times – and is being streamed 10 million times a week.

She added: “In streaming, he had 70 million plays for all of the songs, with 35 million for Take Me to Church. He’s averaging 10 million per week. Getting 10 million a week is global.”
MCD boss Caroline revealed that Hozier has signed a deal for two albums, with options for another three after stopping a massive bidding war.
She explained: “We decided to put Take me to Church up and see what happened. It was to see the reaction. It just went viral.
“Within two weeks eight or nine A&R men had landed in Ireland. It got to where there was a bidding war. We stopped that, because it wasn’t about the money.”

He will then be back in the studio to start work on his second album at the start of 2016.
She said: “He took a long time mak- ing this album and it’s im- portant that he gets the time to make the next album.”
