Success: Kodaline wrote Hometown’s single Where I Belong

“They wrote it months ago actually with a guy called Jamie Scott,” Ryan revealed.

“They wrote that together and just felt that it wasn’t right their upcoming album so it got sent to us.

“We loved it and laid down some vocals and then that was it.

“We had their writing partner Jamie in the studio with us. Steve from Kodaline said he’s really happy that we took it. So that was good to hear.”

Feeling Festive: Hometown launched charity book The Drifts at Dundrum

Speaking at the launch of new children’s book The Drift Family at Dundrum Town Centre, Dean admitted the band were nervous ahead of their performance at the Childline concert next weekend.

“We’re really nervous about it. Our single is out now to pre order on iTunes and we’re releasing it on the 28th just two days before the Childline concert.

“The fact that we are playing the Three Arena is insane. No matter what kind of music you are into every musician wants to play that arena.

“For us to be releasing the single  and then playing the single on that stage, we’re definitely going to be nervous,” he said.
