The first semi-final of Eurovision 2022 will take place in the Pala Olimpico Arena in Turin, Italy tonight.
Albania, Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Netherlands, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine, Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Greece, Iceland, Norway, Russia, Portugal and Armenia will all perform tonight in the hopes of making it through to Saturday’s grand final.
Australia, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Finland, Georgia, Israel, Malta, San Marino, Serbia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Ireland, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania and Sweden will perform in the second semi-final on Thursday night.
UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy – known as the Big 5 – are automatically qualified each year.
Ukraine has been tipped to win this year’s song contest with odds of 8/13, while odds of Ireland’s entry Brooke Scullion qualifying have been slashed to 10/3 from 5/1.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “Eurovision fever is well and truly in the air. Ukraine continue to dominate in the outright market, but a last-minute run of money has seen Ireland’s odds to qualify slashed.”
“Here’s hoping punters are right and we will see Derry’s Brooke Scullion battling it out in the final on Saturday night!”
