Glen Hansard to release new solo album

Oscar winner Glen Hansard has revealed his new album Didn’t He Ramble will go on sale next Friday 18th September.

The singer’s new solo album will mark his first release since his 2012 offering Rhythm & Repose.

The Dubliner’s latest album has been tipped as the “most intimate and elegant record since his work in Once.”

The singer-songwriter recorded the album across the globe in Dublin, France, New York and Chicago.

The film stars new music features guest appearances by John Sheahan from The Dubliners, Sam Amidon as well as Iron & Wine’s Sam Beam.

The Once actor’s longtime collaborator Thomas Bartlett and former Frames bandmate David Odlum looked after the flame-haired singer’s production.

Previously speaking about his impending release, Glen admitted he “dug deep” for his new material.

“I feel I’ve really dug deep for these songs, and I’ve been chasing specific ideas asking myself, ‘What is it I’m trying to say with this line or idea?’,” said Glen.

“One would hope that through all of this that you find your voice. And, amazingly, you might find it in the smallest gesture of a song.”
