EXCLUSIVE: Olly Murs wants to headline his own Croke Park gig

Olly Murs has revealed he wants to headline his very own Croke Park show.

The X Factor star has taken to the stage at the GAA stadium when he supported Robbie Williams – but wants to do it all by himself.

He told Goss.ie: “I’d love to headline Croke Park, but obviously you’ve got to work hard at it and I’m trying to get to stadium level. It’s something I would love to do but you’ve got to have more success.

“I’ve yet to have a No1 here in Ireland so I think maybe once I get a No1 album and single I might do Croke Park but we’ll see.”

The 30-year-old said he has a huge love for Irish crowds – and also the legendary night-life here.

Speaking at the Childline gig, he added: “I’m always looking forward to coming back here and it’s great to be back on the road.

“It’s just the people and it’s a really great laugh here. I really enjoy it. Me and my mates always come over here for a weekend when we have the chance.

“It’s always a good laugh in Dublin and there is always some of the best crowds on the whole tour. We usually always finish in Dublin or Belfast but this time we’re doing it earlier – it’s a shame, I won’t have the hangover I usually have.”
