This is the brand new Irish girl band hoping to break into the charts.

Liir includes You’re A Star winner Leanne Moore, The Voice of Ireland contestant Kim Hayden and Michele McGrath – who used to be in Irish pop group Industry.

The three reality stars have joined forces in hopes of representing Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest this year.

Speaking exclusively to Goss.ie, Leanne revealed she and Michele were planning to take on the Eurovision for months.

“We recorded a song by a Wicklow songwriter Alan Earls. Michele and I have been talking about this for so long and got in touch with Kim a few months ago,” she said.

“We literally all met up to chat about Eurosong the week before RTE put out the release to say they would be open for applications from the public.

“It was all very good timing. A girl group is a little different to anything Ireland have entered and we wanted to do something different. It just made sense to be honest.

“We have to go for it, the chance to represent your country – that’s amazing.”

Leanne, who is dating Tallafornia star Dave Behan, first made a name for herself when she won RTE talent show You’re A Star in 2008.

She later went on to compete in the Eurosong contest – with hopes to represent Ireland at the Eurovision.

But the Limerick singer didn’t win the competition with her song Heaven Needs Much More – losing out to Niamh Kavanagh.

However Leanne spent the next three years on the Eurovision stage. The star was a back up singer for Jedward’s two attempts as well as the year Ryan Dolan represented Ireland.

Also in Liir is Kim Hayden. The red-head is best known for starring in The Voice of Ireland back in 2012.

The Bray native was picked by Sharon Corr, and has since been working on her own music.

More recently Kim dueted with Paddy Casey on his song Out of Control.

The third member of Lir is Dubliner Michele McGrath – who is best known for her modelling career.

Michele, who previously entered the charts with Irish band Industry, is the other half of Irish fighter Cathal Pendred.

The brunette is also a regular on the panto scene.

Michle is well known for making it to the final round of girls hoping to be in Louis Walsh’s girl band Wonderland.

But the singer first came to fame also in Irish band Industry – who toured with JLS and also supported the Pussycat Dolls.

Liir will be competing against X Factor star Mary Byrne, who has recorded a song written by Alan Hughes’ husband Karl Broderick.

This year the Eurosong competition is rumoured to be hosted by Nicky Byrne – after the Late Late Show version got scrapped.

Instead of appearing on the chat show with Ryan Tubridy, contestants will instead get to compete using a similar formula to RTE talent show The Hit.
