Electric Picnic have just anounced a brand spanking new area for festival goers to embrace.
Hazel Wood will be set up in the woodland areas of Stradbally where people can go to escape and dive head first into the art and culture of the festival.
Performances in the area include interactive theatre, immersive hauntings, shadow puppetry, visual displays, commedia dell’arte workshops, visual arts, and that’s only to name a few.
Another huge performance coming to the Hazel Wood stage is the return of Cathy Davey.
The artist spoke out that she had always wanted to perform her fourth album’s first performance in the woods as she wrote it there, but never thought it possible.
“Because this album was written in the forest I had fairly unrealistic notions of its first performance being in the woods,” the blonde beauty admitted.
“But Electric Picnic and Melvin have made it happen, I’m beyond excited.
“Maybe some of the creatures in the album will make an appearance!”
