Ed Sheeran teases massive 2025 comeback

Ed Sheeran has teased a massive 2025 comeback, revealing he has already filmed two secret music videos.

For the past year, the 32-year-old singer-songwriter has been concentrating on other joint collaborations.

Ed recently collaborated with Richard Curtis, director of Love Actually, on the Netflix animated film That Christmas.

The film includes his moving holiday song, Under the Tree.

The movie provided Ed the chance to write his first “sad Christmas song,” which he claimed was significant because “this is quite a lot of people’s realities at Christmas.”

Speaking from his London home, Ed explained to Variety how he got involved.

“Richard showed me some storyboards when he was conceiving the project, and the original idea was that it would be a musical,” he said.

“He asked if I wanted to write music for it, and I said, ‘Cool.’ I wrote a chorus for one scene, but I didn’t hear anything back for a while.”

Two years later, Richard contacted Ed once more to give him an update on the progress of the movie and to asked him to finish the song.

That Christmas, which is situated in the fictional British town of Wellington-on-Sea, is now an emotional film rather than an animated musical.

As his past endeavours come to a close, Ed Sheeran has acknowledged that he is eager to get back to his pop music roots.

He revealed the following about his forthcoming album in a chat with Variety: “It feels like I’m getting back into big pop for the first time in a long time.”

“It’s quite exciting.”

Additionally, he clarified why he has strayed from that genre for his last two albums, stating that Subtract was a totally different record that “didn’t really call for big pop stuff” and Equals was released during the pandemic.
