Demi Lovato fans stage their own concert as tour dates are cancelled due to the star’s hospitalisation

Demi Lovato fans staged their own concert after the singer’s performance was canceled in Atlantic City last night due to her hospitalisation following a drug overdose.

The singer’s tour dates being cancelled didn’t stop fans joining together to hold a mini-gig celebrating the pop star.

Lovatics gathered on-stage in Atlantic City and sang some of the 25-year-old’s music, including her poignant track ‘Sober’.

Fans have been showing their support for the singer by using the hashtag #HowDemiHasHelpedMe on social media.

They have shared their stories of addiction, depression and eating disorders through the hashtag.

Not only are her fans sharing their own stories online but they are also supporting fellow fans who are going through similar issues at present.

It is evident from scrolling through the hashtag just how much of a lifeline Demi’s music has been for so many of her fans over the years.

“She helped me at the worst moment of my life,” wrote one fan who went on to talk about when they were being bullied.

Demi’s honesty about her experiences with bulimia, addiction and depression have resonated deeply with her fan base.

One social media user divulged that, “She helped me ask for help.”

“Her music has been there with me in waiting rooms before counselling, her music has been there for me in all my hospital stays.”

“She has been there for me in my dark times and I am so grateful for her,” she finished.

Another fan credited the singer for being there for her when no one else was.

“She’s helped me for YEARS when no else bothered to check on me,” she wrote.

Celebrities also took to social media to show support for the singer, with tweets from Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Nick Jonas and many more.
