BTS star Jimin has broken Drake’s streaming record with his debut single ‘Promise’.
The pop star is a member of the South Korean boy band BTS, but just released a solo track on SoundCloud.
The 23-year-old broke Drake’s record for the most first-day streams – with 8.5 million listens within 24 hours.

Drake’s ‘Duppy Freestyle’ previously held the record on SoundCloud, as it achieved 4.9 million streams on the day of it’s release.
The song was a diss track in response to Pusha T, amid their feud last year.
At present, Jimin’s single ‘Promise’ has more than 15 million plays, largely from South Korea, the US, Vietnam, Indonesia and Japan.
BTS, also known as the Bangtan Boys, have become a huge hit over the past two years, and have a seriously dedicated fan base.
