Band Aid is set to return for the 40th anniversary of their charity Christmas song Do They Know It’s Christmas?
The hit was released in 1984 to raise funds for the famine in Ethiopia – having released other versions in 2004 and 2014.
Now, this new track will combine the previous version into one – including recordings from the likes of George Michael and Harry Styles.
A music insider told The Sun: “There was a lot of criticism when the last Band Aid single was recorded, so they decided to celebrate this anniversary differently.”
“But it will be amazing to listen to, with so many different stars through the years seemingly collaborating with each other. It will still raise lots of money for charity.”
Now, fans will hear the likes of Harry Styles singing alongside young George Michael or Bono and Sam Smith.
However, this means we won’t get to see the biggest stars of today putting their own spin on the iconic Christmas song.
The track will include 111 musicians featured and is reported to be called the 2024 Ultimate Mix.
It is set to be released on streaming services on November 25th and on CD, vinyl, and download sites on 29th November.
Other artists reported to be included are Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Elbow’s Guy Garvey, Sugababes, Bananarama, Seal, Sinead O’Connor, Rita Ora, and Robbie Williams.
