Will Smith has shared the first cast photo from the live-action Aladdin set.
The famed actor, who will play the Genie in the upcoming adaptation, has revealed that they’ve officially started filming.
Posting the picture on Facebook, Will wrote, “We just started shooting Aladdin and I wanted to intro you guys to our new family…
“Mena Massoud/Aladdin, Naomi Scott/Princess Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari/Jafar, and I’m over here gettin my Genie on. Here we go!”

The film is being directed by Guy Ritchie, and will also include new characters like Dalia, Princess Jasmine’s hand maiden and confidante (Nasim Pedrad) and Prince Anders, a suitor from Skanland and potential husband for Princess Jasmine (Billy Magnussen).
Although the film will include many of the iconic songs from the 1992 original, the film will also have two new melodies thanks to the work of famed composer Alan Menken and the Tony Award-winning songwriters of Dear Evan Hansen, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
