WATCH: Mel Gibson and John Lithgow play two VERY different grandpas in Daddy’s Home 2 trailer

Daddy’s Home 2 is bringing twice the number of dads.

The first trailer for the upcoming comedy sequel was released on Thursday, and it shows Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell’s on-screen fathers joining the mix.

Mark’s dad is portrayed by Mel Gibson, who quickly proves himself to be a bit unclear on how to be a grandparent when he starts telling Mark’s children a joke about dead prostitutes.

Meanwhile John Lithgow is playing Will’s dad, and the pair are shown sharing a kiss on the lips before gushing about how much they have missed each other – even though it has only been two weeks.

Joining the cast: Mel Gibson will play Mark Wahlberg’s dad, with John Lithgow as Will Ferrell’s father | Paramount Pictures

The first movie followed Will as Brad, an easygoing stepfather who must compete for the affections of his wife’s children when their cool biological father Dusty (Mark) returns.

The sequel will see both families joining forces for Christmas, and it looks like Dusty and his father have some work to do on their relationship.

Daddy’s Home 2, which also stars Linda Cardellini, Alessandra Ambrosio and John Cena, will hit cinemas on November 10th, nearly two years after the release of the original.
