A brand new trailer for Danny Boyle‘s long-awaited zombie thriller 28 Years Later has been released.
The filmmaker has teamed up with writer Alex Garland for the first of two sequels, which will hit cinemas on June 20th.
The upcoming movie boasts a star-studded cast, including Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams and Ralph Fiennes.
The film’s official synopsis reads: “It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected.
“One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway.
“When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected, but other survivors as well.”

Irish actor Cillian Murphy, who appeared in the original 28 Days Later, is also set to appear in the sequels – and is listed as an executive producer.
However, fans will have to wait and see how his character reappears in the new movies.
Speaking at CinemaCon last month, Danny said: “Like all good things in life, you may have to wait a little while for him to make his appearance.”
