The Oscars to broadcast live for first time on RTÉ One this year

For the first time this year, the 97th Academy Awards will be televised live on RTÉ One beginning at 12:00 a.m. on Monday, March 3.

Conan O’Brien will host the esteemed awards presentation, which will include the finest in entertainment, at the Dolby Theatre in Ovation Hollywood.

The musical Emilia Pérez is among the nominees for this year’s Academy Awards, followed by The Brutalist and Wicked.

RTÉ will also be airing The Oscars Highlights on Monday 3rd March at 9:30pm on RTÉ2.

Despite fears the Oscars wouldn’t go ahead due to the devastating wildfires, the ceremony is still set for Sunday, March 2nd, at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

This year’s ceremony will be hosted for the first time ever by Conan O’Brien, following in the footsteps of previous hosts Jimmy Kimmel, Chris Rock Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes, to name a few.

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, the stars of Wicked, have been announced to perform at the 97th Academy Awards.

A post on the Academy Awards’ social media accounts said: “A spellbinding moment awaits. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande take the #Oscars stage for a performance you won’t forget.”
