Irish actress Saoirse Ronan has been touted for a revival of The Crucible on Broadway.
The Lovely Bones star has been rumoured to appear in the theatre classic alongside Tony winner Sophie Okonedo, Game of Thrones’ Ciaran Hinds and James Bond star Ben Whishaw.
The Arthur Miller drama follows the community of Salem in 1690 when witch trials were in their prime and the spreading of fear-based rumors after a group of young girls are discovered dancing in the woods.

One of the girls, Abigail, out of an obsessive love for John Proctor (with whom she once had an affair) sets out to have his wife hanged.
Changing lanes from the big screen to the stage, it’s still unclear which role Saoirse has been cast in.
However according to Broadway.com, the production will kick-off on April 7th 2016 at a theatre to be announced.
Meanwhile, the 21-year-old was tipped for an Oscar nomination for her role in Brooklyn earlier this week.
