Saoirse Ronan has revealed how Domhnall Gleeson landed his role in Star Wars.
The Irish actors appeared opposite each other in drama Brooklyn, which has won rave reviews since it premiered at Dublin’s Savoy Theatre in November.
Domhnall discovered he had landed the role of the evil General Hux while he was still filming Brooklyn and Saoirse has admitted that the actor was “cool as a cucumber” when he found out.

The Carlow native also explained that she would happily sign onto the Star Wars franchise without reading the scripts because it would be “amazing”.
“If it was Star Wars then obviously yeah, it looks so amazing,” she told Collider.com
“Domhnall actually got the part when he was about to wrap on Brooklyn and he couldn’t tell anyone about it.
“He was gone one day and then we all found out he got this role and then he came in cool as a cucumber on Monday morning and we were all like: Lightsabers!”
