Ruth Negga is up for a HUGE award over the in the United States.
The actress, who has most recently starred in Loving, has already been tipped as one of the front runners for an Oscar for her role as Mildred Loving.
The star, who was born in Ethiopia and raised in co. Limerick by her Irish mother, has been shortlisted for Best Actress at November’s Gotham Awards.

The Gotham Independent Film Awards signals the “unofficial start” of awards season in America and Ruth is set to be one of the most talked about Irish stars for all her nominations.
Also nominated for the award are actresses Kate Beckinsale for Love & Friendship, which was filmed in Ireland, Annette Bening in 20th Century Women, Isabelle Huppert for her performance in Elle and Natalie Portman in Jackie.
Fellow Loving co-star Joel Edgerton is shortlisted among Best Actor nominees Casey Affleck for Manchester by the Sea, Jeff Bridges in Hell or High Water, Adam Driver for his performance in Paterson and Craig Robinson in Morris from America.
Winners of the awards will be announced later this year at the Gotham Awards Ceremony on November 28.
