New TV3 movie The Guarantee to hit cinemas next month for special screening

TV3’s first movie is set to hit cinemas next month.

The Guaratee, which stars Love/Hate’s Fran aka Peter Coonan, will have a special live screening in October, ahead of the launch on TV3 this December.

The movie, which follows the night Irish banks singed the ill-fated guarantee, will be the first of it’s kind in Ireland.

The Guarantee director Ian Power on set with cast members Orla FitzGerald, David Murray and Morgan Jones.

Behind the scenes: Filming just wrapped on the new film

Despite still filming just weeks ago, the film will be ready for audiences in just a few weeks times.

The highly-anticipated film, written by Colin Murphy, is based on the events leading up to one of the most notorious political decisions in Irish history – the 2008 Bank Guarentee.

Starring Peter Coonan as shamed banker David Drumm, and Amber actor David Murray as Brian Lenihan, the film is set to cause controversy.

This is Peter’s first TV3 project, as he is best known for his role in award-winning RTE drama Love/Hate.

As well as filming his first TV movie Peter will make his return to the stage next week in Borstal Boy, with performances at Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre.
