Michael Fassbender is to be honoured at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The actor has played a diverse range of characters, from a mutant, a sex addict to a slave owner – and now he’s being honoured for being a “chameleonic actor”.

“A truly remarkable, chameleonic actor,” TIFF’s vice president Maxine Bailey said.

The Oscar nominee will be the guest of honour at the annual fundraising event at the TIFF Bell Lightbox on September 7th for the 41st festival.

“Michael Fassbender brings depth, brilliance and candour to each and every role he plays,” Maxine said according to the Toronto Star.

“We are privileged to have him join us at Soirée this year.”

Fassbender will take part in an onstage conversation at the Soirée, followed by a cocktail party on the rooftop of the Lightbox, DJed by Kardinal Offishall.

Tickets for the event range from $300 for balcony seating to $750 for the VIP package.
