Liam Neeson dreams of bagging a role on Downton Abbey – just like George Clooney

Liam Neeson has revealed he wants a role on Downton Abbey – just like his pal George Clooney.

The Hollywood actor said he would love to play a stableman on the ITV drama series.

It comes as Clooney has already filmed scenes for a special Christmas edition of the show.

And Liam is hoping that Dan Stevens – who played Matthew Crawley on Downton Abbey – will be able to sort the role for him.

Asked about the idea of “heading to the Granthams”, he said: “Maybe Dan [Stevens] could have a word with them. I must speak to him about that.

“Maybe I could be a stableman or something I definitely wouldn’t cut the hierarchy, ya know?”

Yesterday Goss.ie told how Liam has been working on a movie with U2 frontman Bono.
