Jack Reynor lands new gig with Oscar winning director

Jack Reynor has landed a new gig, with Oscar winning director Kathryn Bigelow.

According to Variety, the 24-year-old has joined the cast for The Hurt Locker director’s new film based on the 1967 Detroit Riots.

Jack will be reunited with his Glassland co-star Will Poulter, and they will both be joined by Star Wars’ John Boyega and Australian actor Ben O’Toole.

Exciting: Jack has landed a new role 

No information has been released about their characters yet, however, Jack, Will and Ben are expected to have the most screen time in the movie.

The crime drama will be set during Detroit’s devastating riots that took place over five days in 1967, one of the deadliest riots in US history as it resulted in 43 dead and 1,100 injured citizens.

No studio has been named to take on the film projects, but they’re aiming for a release in 2017, the 50th anniversary of the riots.
