‘I’ll back back’: The Terminator will return thanks to James Cameron

The director will regain rights to the film in 2019

James Cameron who wrote and directed the first two films, is set to regain the rights of The Terminator in 2019.

The writer and director is reportedly working with Deadpool director Tim Miller on a brand new film.

Tim Miller would direct “a reboot and conclusion of one of cinema’s great science fiction tales.”

James Cameron hasn’t been involved with the Terminator series since 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

The series has since included three additional films and The Sarah Connor Chronicles TV show, only a few of which Cameron has approved of.

At this point, there’s no telling if Cameron’s return to the material would be a direct sequel to Judgment Day, or explore another story within the Terminator universe.

It is unsure whether Arnold Schwarzenegger would feature in the film, as he would nearly be 73 at the point of filming.
