If Michael Fassbender had a dream to be the next James Bond, he’s now one step closer if the bookies are anything to go by
The Kerry native made the list of actor’s most likely to take over the role from Daniel Craig who is said to be saying goodbye to the role.
Michael was previously 20/1 to be the next 007 but the actor’s odds have now been slashed to 12/1.
Action star: Could Michael be the next Irish 007?
Unfortunately, the X-Men star still faces stiff competition from hot favourites Tom Hiddleston at 2/1 and Tom Hardy at 5/2.
There’s still a good chance an Irish man could be taking on the role with Poldark star Aidan Turner coming in with a respectable 7/1.
Aidan previously met with the producers of James Bond to discuss the role.

“Despite the day that’s in it, the gamble on Michael Fassbender is not a joke and following support including a cash bet of €100 at 20/1, our traders have had to slash the German-Irish actor into 12/1 to become the next 007,” Boylesports spokesman Liam Glynn said.
“Tom Hiddleston remains the favourite to replace Daniel Craig but we may well have another Irish 007 in the future judging by the support for Fassbender,” he said.
It comes after Goss.ie listed Michael as one of the Irish actor’s who could be the next James Bond.
