John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John will return as Danny and Sandy to mark Grease’s 40th anniversary next year.
Olivia confirmed that the pair are discussing plans for a reunion, but didn’t reveal what format it would take.
Speaking before collecting the Icon Award at the Fame Awards at Hard Rock Live in Las Vegas, she said: “We are thinking up ways. Nothing to announce yet.”
“Forty years anniversary of Grease, which I can’t believe. Time goes so fast. It is so exciting.”
News of the Grease reunion will come as a nice surprise for fans of the 1978 film, which earned an astonishing $400million at the box office, and launched John and Olivia’s careers.
Accoring to the Mirror, Fame Awards executive producer Al Bowman said, “Olivia is truly one of the greatest entertainers of all time, succeeding in both film and music.
“She was millions of men’s first crushes as Sandy, so to hear that she is returning as Sandy with John will be a huge deal for the world. It will be a huge deal. We would welcome them performing at next year’s Fame Awards.”
