Deirdre O'Kane delighted after film Noble gets a cinema release in America

Actress Deirdre O’Kane delighted after her film Noble is getting a release in America.

The Irish-made flick – which tells the story of children’s rights activist Christina Noble – will hit US cinemas next year.

It has already won a number of movie prizes in America, including audience awards at film festivals in Dallas, Nashville, San Diego and Newport Beach.

Now Deirdre, whose husband Stephen Bradley directed the film, will see their investment pay off after they remortgaged their house to make sure Noble happened.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how the movie does – like any actor, I’m hoping people go to see it because it’s a very special film about an incredible woman,” she told the Herald.

“It has taken us six years to get this film made, but I am so delighted that Christina chose us to tell her story.

“We won’t be going to the States with the film until March of next year and we’ll be doing another big promotional leg of it then.”

Noble also starred Sarah Greene, Brendan Coyle and Liam Cunningham and was shot in Dublin and Vietnam.
