Hollywood stars Colin Farrell and Jonathan Rhys Meyers are being lined up for a new movie about the events of the Easter Rising.
Award-winning film maker Kevin McCann said Colin, Jonathan and Cillian Murphy are all in talks for the movie.
“We’re in negotiations with a lot of top Irish actors and they’re all very interested because this is an iconic period in our history.”

“It will be the first ever movie on the rising,” he said.
Speaking to the Star Kevin said filming will take place early next year.
“A decision on the cast as well as the crew such as the director will be made before the end of the summer.”

“Filming will begin early next year and the film will be released on St Patrick’s Day 2016.
“It will be screened in the UK, the US and Canada and Australia,” he said.
“This movie will change the way people think about Easter 1916.”
