Brendan O'Carroll finds it 'tough' to see his kids being slagged off for Mrs Brown's

Comedian Brendan O’Carroll has admitted that his kids are hurt by the awful reviews of Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie.

The Dublin star – who insisted he never writes for the critics – said “younger members of the cast” do take it to heart.

And Brendan, 58, admitted it can be “tough” when he sees how they are affected by the bad reviews.

“I’m like a sieve, but it affects some of the other members of cast, particularly the younger ones,” he said.

“That stuff doesn’t hurt me and you get used to it. I can only write what I think is funny, for the audience.

“I know it hurts the younger members of the family though and that’s tough… You expect your kids to work hard and they come up trumps every time. I’m very proud of the movie.”

He made the comments while presenting his second day of the Marian Finucane radio show on RTE Radio 1.

Previously, Goss.ie revealed how Brendan refused to have the premiere in London as the movie company had requested.
