Brendan Gleeson gets another nomination for Best Actor amid Oscar speculation

Brendan Gleeson has received another best actor nomination for his role as Fr James Lavelly in Calvary.

The Irish actor has already received the nod by the British Independent Film Awards and now Brendan is up for the same prize at the European Film Awards.

Brendan, 59, has been officially nominated for Best European Actor, for the same role he already won an IFTA for.

It comes amid rumours that Brendan could earn a Best Actor nomination at The Oscars next year.

Renowned film website Indiewire had said that he “will definitely be in the conversation” to be included and is a “dark horse” for the Academy Awards in February.

The European Film Awards take place on December 13 in Latvia.
