Bette Midler is NOT happy about the Hocus Pocus reboot

The actress played witch Winifred Sanderson in the 1993 classic

Bette Midler has slammed Disney Channel’s remake of Hocus Pocus as “cheap.”

Back in September, it was reported that Disney Channel is working on a remake of the 1993 classic – but the original cast won’t be involved.

A spokesperson for Disney Channel said that the project is in early development, and that producer David Kirschner, who worked on the original, will executive produce the reboot.

Speaking to People about the Hocus Pocus reboot, Bette said, “I know it’s cheap. It’s going to be cheap!”

“I’m not sure what they’re going to do with my character. My character is very, very broad and I don’t know who they’re going to find to play that.”

When asked if she would return if the price was right, she replied, “No, no, no!”

Meanwhile, the original film’s director, Kenny Ortega, and Sanderson sisters Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy are not involved in the reboot either.
