A family affair: All THREE Gleesons to appear in new play together for first time

Hollywood star Brendan Gleeson will act alongside his two sons for the first time ever next year.

The Calvary actor will appear with Domhnall and Brian on stage at the Olympia Theatre for a new production of Enda Walsh’s The Walworth Farce.

It will be the first time the family trio will be properly seen together – with the play telling the story of an Irish father and his two sons living in a London council flat.

Father Dinny has emigrated from Cork – and the fast-paced comedy shows them telling a made up version of their family history.

The Sunday Times reports that the dates for the show will be announced this week.

Previously the three Gleesons briefly appeared together for charity in a sketch series – Immaturity For Charity in 2012 – to raise cash for St Francis Hospice.

While Domhnall appeared alongside his dad in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, playing Bill Weasley as his father was Mad-Eye Moody.

They also both appeared in Calvary – with Brendan playing the main priest, while his son plays an unrepentant murderer he visits in prison.

However Brendan said it was “very odd” to appear with his son in the Irish film.

He added: “We basically didn’t speak for about a week beforehand and got through it and gave as good as we got to each other on opposite sides of the table.”

Brian Gleeson – who played gangster Hughie in the first series of Love/Hate – also appeared with his dad in Celtic tiger critique The Tiger’s Tail.
