Zac Efron reveals WHY he took Ted Bundy role

Zac Efron has revealed why he took on the role of Ted Bundy in new film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile.

The actor will play the infamous serial killer, kidnapper, rapist, burglar, and necrophile Ted Bundy, who assaulted and murdered numerous young women and girls during the 1970s.

According to Variety, he admitted: “Initially, I had reservations about playing a serial killer. I’ve seen people make horror films like this before, and it seems like an aggressive play to separate yourself from a perceived image.”

He explained why he took the role: “This movie was really about a human being, somebody that perhaps I would have been friends with. And a love story from a very unique perspective.”

Zac continued to explain how the story is different, he said: “I’ve never seen that before. It’s intriguing to me. I think it’s more psychological and even more kind of a mindf**k.”

The serial killer was known for his ‘charm’ which the actor told E! News that is what he focused on: “The most exciting thing for me was being able to sort of lend that Ted Bundy charisma to the part, I hope that’s what comes across the most.”

Ted Bundy convinced the public, the police, and the press that he was innocent but eventually admitted to murdering 36 women in the 70s.
