YouTuber Tana Mongeau apologises for ‘partying’ during the coronavirus pandemic

The social media star was recently called out for attending a large party in LA

YouTuber Tana Mongeau has apologised for “partying” during the coronavirus pandemic.

The 22-year-old shared an apology on Instagram, after she was called out for attending a large party with a host of other influencers.

Tana wrote: “Partying/going to any social gatherings during a global pandemic was such a careless and irresponsible action on my behalf.”

“I fully hold myself accountable for this + will be staying inside. Actions like that don’t deserve a platform and I want to fully apologize and be better than this.”

Tana released a statement after she faced backlash for posting a video with fellow YouTuber Erika Costell at a house party.

In the Instagram video, both stars shouted “we don’t f***ing care” – leading fans to believe they were talking about social distancing guidelines.

However, Tana has insisted they were referring to their “past drama”.

“While Erika and I were referring to past drama in our video the topic no longer matters — I need to be a better example and person,” she added.

The news comes after fellow YouTube star Tyler Oakley called out multiple social media stars, including Tana, Nikita Dragun and James Charles, for “partying in large groups” despite current restrictions.

He tweeted: “if your favorite influencers are at huge house parties during a pandemic (& are dumb enough to post it on social media)… they are bad influences. unfollow them.”

Tyler later added: “Hi@jamescharles @NikitaDragun @tanamongeau @larrayxo @charlidamelio @dixiedamelio & any others who have been partying in large groups – please consider social distancing, mask wearing, & using your huge platforms to encourage responsibility during a worldwide pandemic.”

During the latest episode of #GossChats, social media star and TV presenter James Patrice addresses the recent cancellation of Dancing With The Stars, being single during lockdown and creating viral hits with his family.

Goss Chats is sponsored by top aesthetic clinic Haus of JeJuve.
