Ruby Rose fought back tears dicussing her Batwoman role.

The Australian actress was on ‘Tonight with Jimmy Fallon’ to promote her new film with Jason Statham called ‘Meg’.

This was her first interview since it was revealed she would be playing the iconic role.

Speaking about the moment she got the part, she revealed “I found out that I got cast as Batwoman an hour before I did the premiere for Meg”.

The 32-year-old also revealed how she was “so nervous doing the red carpet” as she was “spontaneously crying”.

Ruby seemed visibly touched by her new role and struggled to keep her composure during the interfiew.

Speaking about the role she confessed, “I am so thrilled. I feel like the reason I kept getting so emotional is because when I was growing up watching TV, I never saw someone I could identify with, let alone a superhero.”

The ‘Orange is the new Black’ actress shared the news of her casting on Instagram.

She wrote in her caption “The Bat is out of the bag and I am beyond thrilled and honored. I’m also an emotional wreck.. because this is a childhood dream.”

“This is something I would have died to have seen on TV when I was a young member of the LGBT community who never felt represented on tv and felt alone and different.”

“Thank you everyone. Thank you god.”
