Neil Diamond has updated his song, Sweet Caroline, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 79-year-old played an acoustic version of the famous tune with new lyrics to encourage social distancing.

Neil posted the video on Twitter in the comfort of his own home.

In the video, Neil said: “I know we’re going through a rough time right now but I love ya.”

“I think maybe if we sing together, well, we’ll just feel a little bit better.”

The singer proceeded to sing the song with the changed lyrics.

“Hands…washing hands,” he sang while strumming a guitar.

“Reaching out…don’t touch me, I won’t touch you!”
