WATCH: Kim Kardashian shares sweet moment with Pete Davidson during Met Gala dress fitting

A video has emerged of Kim Kardashian trying on the Marilyn Monroe dress she wore to the 2022 Met Gala for the first time.

The reality star borrowed the iconic gown from Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum in Orlando, but the dress didn’t fit her at first.

In a video shared by TMZ, the 41-year-old appeared panicked as her team tried to squeeze her into the dress, which is worth millions of dollars.

The custom-made sheer dress was worn by Marilyn when she famously sang “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” to John F. Kennedy in 1962.

As her team struggled to close the dress, Kim held on to her comedian boyfriend Pete Davidson, who told her to “relax”.

After Kim stressed, “Should I go to the gym?” Pete tried to calm her down by saying, “You’re good! Relax.”

Later in the video, after Kim realised she could leave the dress open at the back and cover it with a shawl, the reality star high-fived Pete, who was holding her hand as she stood up on a step.

The mother-of-four then asked her beau to take his double hat off, as she didn’t want him to look silly in any behind the scenes videos she posted.

After Pete said, “Oh you don’t want me wearing a double hat?” Kim laughed and said, “I’m just looking out for you.”

The couple have been dating since October, following Kim’s split from her husband Kanye West last February.

Kim went on a crazy diet to fit into Marilyn’s dress for the Met Gala, and lost 16 pounds in three weeks.

Speaking to Vogue at the Met, the 41-year-old said: “I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein. I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict.”

Kim only wore the original dress for a couple of minutes at Monday’s charity ball, before she changed into a replica after climbing the steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Kim said before the red carpet: “I’m extremely respectful to the dress and what it means to American history.”

“I would never want to sit in it or eat in it or have any risk of any damage to it and I won’t be wearing the kind of body makeup I usually do.”
