WATCH: Kesha shares emotional video as she announces new music

Kesha is releasing new music amid her long legal battle with Dr. Luke.

The singer announced her upcoming single in an emotional video message to her fans, who she calls “animals”.

“I have a surprise for you,” she said. “Your support and love and kindness has gotten me through hands-down the hardest time of my entire life.”

Kesha added: “My new song, Praying, is coming out tomorrow, and I couldn’t have done this without you. I f***ing love you.”

It comes after the pop star teased her first album in five years by sharing Instagram posts that appeared to be cover art for a record titled “The Beginning”.

According to reports Praying is co-written by Ryan Lewis, who is well-known for collaborating with Macklemore.

Kesha filed a lawsuit against Dr. Luke in 2014 claiming that he sexually harassed and assaulted her and emotionally abused her, and her claims were dismissed by a judge last year.

While the Tick Tock hit-maker’s pleas to be let out of her contract with Sony were ignored, Dr. Luke is no longer the CEO of the company’s Kemosabe Records and it is believed Kesha’s new music will still be released through Sony.
