WATCH: Beyoncé’s father admits he ‘laughed so hard’ when Solange attacked Jay Z in elevator

The infamous fight took place in an elevator with Solange attacking Jay Z..

Mathew Knowles has admitted that he “laughed so hard” when he saw daughter Solange attack his son-in-law Jay Z in an elevator back in 2014.

The infamous fight, which took place the night of the Met Gala, was widely reported after an employee sold the footage of the fight to TMZ.

The footage, which saw Solange physically attack Jay Z in the elevator, was hilarious to Beyoncé and Solange’s father.

Matthew Knowles appeared on Wendy this week, and when the fight was brought up, he said, “I have to tell you, I laughed so hard.”

On why he laughed so hard, Matthew said, “I laughed so hard because if you know Solange, that’s Solange.”

“You just never know what you’re gonna get a firecracker. I don’t know where she gets that from!

“Then Beyoncé would be in the corner, quiet, just kinda, like ‘When y’all finish, let me know’. So I laughed.”

According to E! News, the fight broke out after Jay Z was seen getting close to Rachael Ray.

A source spoke to E! at the time and said, “Beyoncé approached Rachel to let her know the behaviour was disrespectful and she wanted her out of their lives for good.”

The source also said, “Solange came over to have her sister’s back, and things got heated with her and Rachel. Jay said some disrespectful things to Beyoncé and Solange as the confrontation was going down.

“That’s why all hell broke loose in the elevator and why Beyoncé just stood back and let Solange hit Jay.”
