Usher explains why he was a no-show at the One Love Manchester concert

Usher has finally explained why he was a no-show at the One Love Manchester concert on Sunday night, despite appearing on the original line-up.

The concert raised millions for the victims of the Manchester terror attack that took place on May 22 after Ariana Grande’s concert at the Manchester Arena, and many stars including Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Take That, Coldplay, Liam Gallagher and more took to the stage on the night.

Taking to Instagram, Usher explained that he was forced to pull out of the gig because he had to take his son to a special summer camp for children with diabetes.

“So happy to see that last night’s concert in Manchester proved that love always prevails,” he wrote.

“I would have loved to be there but It was my son’s first day at Camp Kudzu, one of the few summer camps for kids living with diabetes. This was an important day for him and for myself as a proud father. Stay strong UK,” he added.

10.9 million people on average tuned in on BBC One alone, and the concert raised £2 million in just three hours.
