There will be a star-studded re-enactment of one of Friends’ most famous episodes this week

Gabrielle Union will host a star-studded re-enactment of one of Friends’ most famous episodes this week.

Taking place via Zoom, the stars will do a virtual table read of the season three episode The One Where No One’s Ready – which sees Ross Geller rushing to get his friends to a black tie event on time.

Sterling K Brown, Ryan Michelle Bathe, Uzo Aduba, Aisha Hinds, Kendrick Sampson and Jeremy Pope will star in the re-enactment in an all-black cast.

The event is taking place on Wednesday at 2am GMT, and aims to benefit the When We All Vote – an organisation attempting to increase voter registration numbers in the US.

The much-loved sitcom ran from 1994 to 2004, but has been been criticised in recent years for its’ lack of diversity among the cast members.

Addressing the criticism, David Schwimmer admitted he was “well aware” of the issue, telling the Guardian last year: “One of the first girlfriends I had on the show was an Asian American woman and later I dated African American women.

“That was a very conscious push on my part.”
