The final episode of The Undoing received a mixed reaction after it aired on Sky Atlantic on Monday night.
The six-part series, based on the 2014 novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz, starred Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant at the centre of a murder mystery.
Over the past few weeks, viewers have been waiting to find out who really killed Elena Alves (Matilda De Angelis) – and the series finale finally revealed the truth.
But after the final episode aired, some fans admitted they were disappointed by the show’s “obvious” conclusion.
Me thinking I’d sussed the killer in #TheUndoing only for it to be the most obvious damn person 😦 pic.twitter.com/8t7xh1YvlW

I have to say I’m pretty disappointed with the outcome of #TheUndoing. There needed to be something else and not just the obvious.

The more I think about the finale of #TheUndoing the more I’m a little disappointed. It was good, but, eh.

I know this is going to be a unpopular opinion…but… I’m disappointed with #TheUndoing finale… I cannot believe THAT was the last episode. It feels there should be at least one if not two more episodes. It just felt so predictable. It was a great series until the end…

Not sure how I feel about that finale #TheUndoing

I’m so disappointed in the ending of #TheUndoing – I had such great theories that were way more fascinating than this

I’m torn by #TheUndoing finale. On the one hand, I thought it was really smart to subvert expectations in the way it did, but I also expected more and ended up feeling a bit underwhelmed. But however you might feel, we can all agree that Nicole’s hair was the real star here. pic.twitter.com/Ee4yjVR90U

While many viewers were unimpressed with the ending, others thought it was a brilliant series finale.
Just give Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant all the awards right now!!! What a show and what a finale😳

The fact that #TheUndoing had us creating theories on how every character could have been the killer, while simultaneously not paying attention to the obvious killer right in front of our face has me in awe. And then the acting woah !!!!! pic.twitter.com/cEmmhgTGRy

Such a compelling finale of #TheUndoing! Really enjoyed this show from start to finish. Very well written. I was never 100% sure who I thought the killer was. Great performances all round, & it was nice to see Hugh Grant in such a different kind of role. Definitely worth a watch. pic.twitter.com/6lwgqkDBac

Really enjoyed #TheUndoing for several reasons.
1. Hugh Grant being brilliant.
2. Nicole Kidman being even better.
3. A 6 episode no-filler series.
4. Edgar Ramirez being a sexy policeman who was also a total arsehole.
5. New York being a total babe.— Simon Lewis (@simlew86) November 30, 2020
