Taylor Simone Ledward has tearfully accepted a Golden Globe award on behalf of her late husband Chadwick Boseman.

The actor won Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama, at Sunday night’s award show for his final role in Netflix’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

In an emotional speech, his widow said: “He would thank God. He would thank his parents. He would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifice.”

“He would say something beautiful, something inspiring, something that would amplify that little voice that tells you you can, that tells you to keep going, that calls you back to what you were meant to be doing at this moment in history.”

After naming Chadwick’s co-stars, the singer said: “And I don’t have his words but we have to take all the moments to celebrate those we love. So thank you HFPA, for this opportunity to do exactly that.”

“Hon, you keep ’em coming,” she added.

Chadwick sadly passed away at the age of 43 on August 28 last year, following a private battle with colon cancer.
