Stranger Things star ‘working at restaurant’ after COVID-19 postponed production

Gaten Matarazzo has reportedly taken on a job as a food runner in a restaurant, after the coronavirus pandemic postponed the production of the popular Netflix show Stranger Things.

The 17-year-old, who plays Dustin Henderson on the show, was spotted helping out at a Long Beach Island restaurant – with a rep for the actor confirming the news with The Hollywood Reporter.

Members of Gaten’s family are also reportedly working at the restaurant, which the actor is said to be helping out at “as a way to pass the time.”

The new season of the hit supernatural show was expected to have been released this Autumn, before production was halted due to health and safety concerns following the COVID-19 outbreak.

Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington in the show, told THR that the new season would be worth the wait.

“It definitely gives them more time to write, and I think that that’s always good,” he said, “I guess there’s the issue of the kids growing, but apart from that, I just think that we want to get the show out as soon as possible for people. That’s definitely true.”

“But something that the [Duffer] brothers have always been extremely, extremely controlling over is just the quality control of the show. So, if this just gives them more time to realize what their vision is, then yeah, I think it could be a good thing.”
